Welcome to the # 1 student organization for the sport industry on the UNC campus! If you love sports and desire a career in sports, you have found the right organization and team of dedicated leaders. Since 2008 it has been my honor to guide this great group of students since Chris Crawley, a student in my Sport Marketing course, first approached me to help him revive the organization. We have a proud history of being creative, collaborative, and committed to serving one another with the best instruction, events, and leadership lessons from sport professionals.
After 18 years of teaching and advising, I have transitioned from full-time professorship to full-time entrepreneur. You can find me on or off campus making things happen. My last faculty positions were in the prestigious Gillings School of Global Public Health and Kenan-Flagler School of Business. My background includes teaching sport business and administration courses, Steele Building academic advising, and internship coordinator for the EXSS department (Sport Administration). I designed and taught the first sports entrepreneurship and sports analytics courses at UNC. Prior to the Academy, I had started my business and spent over 17 years in the financial services industry. I have been having lots of fun! I played hoops for UVA and was a Tar Heel assistant coach for the 1984 ACC champions! I stay active with GirlTrek and biking. My second home is in Cahuita, Costa Rica. I made mistakes in my career and have also had great success. I hope to give you real practical advice from the lessons that I learned so that you can achieve your dreams! In addition, I want you to have a great college experience – exploring new ideas and subjects, engaging with others, and empowering yourself!

This virtual institution connects sport professionals across the country and beyond! I’ve been blessed to host national events, create sports analytics activities, and be in partnership with organizations such as the ACC, College Football Playoff, NFL Alumni Association, Charlotte Hornets, Charlotte Panthers, Durham Bulls, ESPN, RTI International, SAS, U.S. Embassy for Sport, and Wasserman.
The Club is YOUR place for “Collaboration and Connections.” Regardless of your academic major, we think critically, analyze the details, consider all perspectives, reflect, and evaluate happenings in the multi-billion- dollar sport world.
